I'm reading 1984 right now, George Orwell was spot on when he said, in a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.
It's happening all around us in these days.
It's happening all around us in these days.
1984" was required reading in high school for my generation. It was supposed to be a warning. Unfortunately, too many took it as a guide.
"If you have to be persuaded, reminded, bullied, pressured, incentivized, lied to, guilt tripped, coerced, socially shamed, censored, threatened, paid, punished, and criminalized, if all of this is necessary to gain your compliance, you can be absolutely certain what is being promoted is not in your best interest."-
The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those that speak it. George Orwell
"To see what is in front of one's nose needs a constant struggle." --George Orwell "The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears.
It was their final, most essential command." --George Orwell
It was their final, most essential command." --George Orwell
The point of war was not for one super state to conquer another, but for all three super states to work behind the scenes to create the conditions of terror, that would enable them all to institute totalitarian controls within their own borders “ - 1984
We sleep walked into 1984 years ago, we just didn't realize it would be dressed up as social media. Big brother really is watching you!
tt’s crazy how this guy can have the foresight of years and years in the future yet most people now a-days can’t see the reality right in front of them.
I always considered '1984' one of the most terrifying novels I have ever read. It's terrifying because it precisely describes the mentality of the elites who actually control our societies at present. They really want to create a world like the one described in the book, modified by the technology that is now available but which didn't exist in Orwell's time.
I have experienced gaslighting and narcissism it’s the worst mental abuse of all time, having said that I can tell you that having your ideas and thoughts forbidden can really damage your well-being and mental health. It can cause you to develop mental disorders by constantly invalidating you.
This is truly horrifying and I see all of this taking place in reality more and more. When I was a teen in the 90's the whole idea of adopting any kind of label was just not happening, we rejected it. Todays youth not only loves labels but will make up more to tack on to themselves like standing out and being unique or an individual is wrong somehow. It is the craziest shit to watch take place. The hivemind mentality they possess also is mind boggling to me. Truth, facts, reality can not be "subjective" for any society to succeed. And believing something just because someone with more money or a higher position says so, is insanity.
We don't hear much about 1984 anymore. Back in the day we liked it because we thought it was about other countries whom we didn't like. Now that we are living it, so many would prefer we just forget about that book.
