Another Brick In the Wall
With bitter satisfaction, Pink Floyd recounts how the teachers of his childhood would stop at nothing to humiliate their students and crush the childrens' individuality and yet, the woke teacher / abuser / low-life would get their comeuppance at home where they suffered the abuses of their significant other.
[Verse 1: Roger Waters & David Gilmour]
We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teacher, leave them kids alone
Hey! Teacher! Leave them kids alone!
[Chorus: Roger Waters & David Gilmour]
All in all, it's just another brick in the wall
All in all, you're just another brick in the wall
[Verse 2: Islington Green School Students]
We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers, leave them kids alone
Hey! Teacher! Leave us kids alone!
[Chorus: Islington Green School Students]
All in all, you're just another brick in the wall
All in all, you're just another brick in the wall

A Million Miles
A million miles my heart can see
Into your eyes and know were done
A million miles apart are we
And yet were standing here as one
A million ways I hoped we'd spend our love
As only souls united do
Now here we are about to end our love
And I would walk a million miles to get back home to you.
Remember how you so beguiled me when
You said that love was not to fear?
Well now I wish I were a child again
And I could run away from here
A million times I hoped I'd never know
The day my heart would break in two
I wonder if, my love, you'll ever know
That I would walk a million miles if I could be with you.
Improvisation
We never thought the flame would flicker out
But love was harder than we knew
Goodbye my love and don't you ever doubt
That I would walk a million miles
Try a million trials
Walk a hundred million miles for you.

After You've Gone
Piano Intro
After you've gone and left me crying
After you gone there's no denying
You'll feel blue You' ll feel sad
You'll miss the dearest love you've ever had
There'll come a time now don't forget it
There'll come a time when you'll regret it
Sone day when you grow lonely
Your heart will break like mine and you'll want me only
After you've gone After you've gone away
After I'm gone After the breakup
After I'm gone you're gonna wake up
You will find You will find
Not to let somebody turn around your mind
After the years we've been together
The joy and tears All kinds of weather
Some day low and downhearted
You're gonna make with me
Back where you've started
After I'm gone After I'm gone
After I have gone away
Songwriters: Turner Layton and Henry Creamer
Bobby Darin from the 1966 album "The Shadow Of Your Smile" with music arranged by Richard Wess
Now won't you listen honey, while I say
How could you tell me that you're going away
Don't say that we must part
Don't break your baby's heart
You know I've loved you for these many years
Loved you night and day
Oh honey baby can you see my dear
Listen while I say
After you've gone and left me crying
After you've gone there's no denying
You'll feel blue you'll feel sad
You'll miss the only pal you've ever had
There'll come a time, well don't forget it
There'll come a time when you'll regret it
Some day when you grow lonely
You heart will break like mine
Oh babe, think what you're doin'
You know my love for you will drive me to ruin
After you've gone, after you've gone away away
After you've gone and left me crying
After you've gone, there's no denying

All Too Soon
All too soon
We had to part
The moment you had touched my heart
And with you went my dream
All too soon
All too sweet
Was our affair
And you put all the sweetness there
What a shame that it's gone
All too soon
I knew the strange delights
That only you in love could bring
But as I reached the heights
The bottom fell from everything
You should know as well as I
Our love deserves another try
For you whispered goodbye
All too soon
All too soon

American Anthem
All we've been given by those who came before
The dream of a nation where freedom would endure
The work and prayers of centuries have brought us to this day
What shall be our legacy? What will our children say?
Let them say of me I was one who believed
In sharing the blessings I received
Let me know in my heart when my days are through
America (America) I gave my best to you
Each generation from the plains to distant shore
With the gifts they were given were determined to leave more
Battles fought together, acts of conscience fought alone
These are the seeds from which America has grown
Let them say of me I was one who believed
In sharing the blessings that I received
Let me know in my heart when my days are through
America (America) I gave my best to you
For those who think they have nothing to share
Who fear in their hearts there is no hero there
Know each quiet act of dignity is that which fortifies
The soul of a nation that will never die
Let them say of me I was one who believed
In sharing the blessings I received
Let me know in my heart when my days are through

Angel Eyes
Angel Eyes
Try to think that love's not around
Still it's uncomfortably near
My old heart ain't gaining any ground
Because my angel eyes ain't here
Angel eyes, that old Devil sent
They glow unbearably bright
Need I say that my love's misspent
Misspent with angel eyes tonight
So drink up all you people
Order anything you see
Have fun you happy people
The drink and the laugh's on me
Pardon me but I've gotta run
The fact's uncommonly clear
Gotta find who's now number one
And why my angel eyes ain't here
'Scuse me while I disappear

At Last
At last, my love has come along
My lonely days are over and life is like a song
At last, the skies above are blue
My heart was wrapped in clover the night I looked at you
I found a dream that I can speak to
A dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill to press my cheek to
A thrill I've never known
You smiled and then the spell was cast
And here we are in Heaven
For you are mine at last
At last, my love has come along
My lonely days are over and life is like a song
At last, the skies above are blue
My heart was wrapped in clover the night I looked at you
I found a dream that I can speak to
A dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill to press my cheek to
A thrill I've never known
You smiled and then the spell was cast
And here we are in Heaven
For you are mine at last

At Seventeen
I learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
And high school girls with clear skinned smiles
Who married young and then retired
The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth
And those of us with ravaged faces
Lacking in the social graces
Desperately remained at home
Inventing lovers on the phone
Who called to say come dance with me
And murmured vague obscenities
It isn't all it seems
At seventeen
A brown eyed girl in hand me downs
Whose name I never could pronounce
Said, "Pity please the ones who serve,
They only get what they deserve"
The rich relationed hometown queen
Marries into what she needs
With a guarantee of company
And haven for the elderly
Remember those who win the game
Lose the love they sought to gain
In debentures of quality
And dubious integrity
Their small town eyes will gape at you
In dull surprise when payment due
Exceeds accounts received
At seventeen
To those of us who know the pain
Of valentines that never came
And those whose names were never called
When choosing sides for basketball
It was long ago and far away
The world was younger than today
And dreams were all they gave for free
To ugly duckling girls like me
We all play the game and when we dare
To cheat ourselves at solitaire
Inventing lovers on the phone
Repenting other lives unknown
That call and say, come dance with me
And murmur vague obscenities
At ugly girls like me
At seventeen

American Tune
Many's the time I'v been mistaken
And many times confused
Yes, and often felt forsaken
And certainly misused
But I'm all right. I'm all right
I'm just weary to my bones
Still, you don't expect to be
Bright and bon vivant
So far away from home, so far away from home
And I don't know a soul who's not been battered
I don't have a friend who feels at ease
I don't know a dream that's not been shattered
or driven to its knees
But it's all right, it's all right
We've lived so well so long
Still, when I think of the road
we're traveling on
I wonder what went wrong
I can't help it. I wonder what went wrong
And I dreamed I was dying
I dreamed that my soul rose unexpectedly
And looking back down at me
Smiled reassuringly
And I dreamed I was flying
And high up above, my eyes could clearly see
The Statue of Liberty
Sailing away to sea
And I dreamed I was flying
We come on the ship they call the Mayflower
We come on the ship that sailed the moon
We come in the age's most uncertain hours
And sing an American tune
But it's all right. It's all right
You can't be forever blessed
Still, tomorrow's going to be another working day
And I'm trying to get some rest
That's all. I'm trying to get some rest

Autumn Leaves
https://musescore.com/user/3402766/scores/1026276
The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall
"Autumn Leaves" was composed by Joseph Kosma with original lyrics by Jacques Prévert
Johnny Mercer came up with the English lyrics while waiting on his porch for his friend Mickey Goldsen
Yves Montand and Irène Joachim introduced "Les Feuilles Mortes" in the film "Les Portes De La Nuit" (1946)
Jo Stafford was the first artist to record Johnny Mercer's version in 1950
Edith Piaf performed two versions of this track, in English and in French, on the radio program The Big Show also in in 1950
Baubles, Bangles And Beads
Baubles, bangles, hear how they jing, jinga-linga
Baubles, bangles, bright shiny beads
Sparkles, spangles, my heart will sing, singa-linga
Wearin' baubles, bangles and beads
I'll just glitter and gleam so
Make somebody dream so that
Maybe he may buy me a ring, ringa-linga
I've heard that's where it leads
Wearin' baubles, bangles, and beads
[instrumental]
Baubles, bangles, hear how they jing, jinga-linga
Baubles, bangles, all those bright, shiny beads
Sparkles, spangles, my heart will sing, singa-linga
Wearin' baubles, bangles, and beads
I'll just glitter and gleam so
Make somebody dream so that
Maybe he may buy me a ring, ringa-linga
I've heard that's where it leads
Wearin' baubles and bangles, sparkles, bangles
Just give me those bangles
I've gotta have sparkles, bangles and beads
Songwriters:
Robert Wright, George Forrest
Sarah Vaughan, accompanied by Kirk Stuart (piano), Charles "Buster" Williams (bass), and Georges Hughes (drums).
Recorded in Sweden, 1964.
Jazz musicians are especially drawn to the song's beguiling melody and advanced harmonic structure. The familiar AABA+ Coda structure of the song is energized by a key change up a major third interval for every section; the transition is marked by a bracing harmonic progression from the central major key of one section to the tritone minor key of the following section. Jazz players have enjoyed the musical challenges of this song for decades.
Be Good
Be good is her name and I sing
My lion's song and brush my mane
She would if she could
So she pulled my lion's tail and cause me pain
She said lions are made for cages
Just to look at in delight
You dare not let'em walk around
'cause they might just bite
Does she know what she does
When she dances around my cage and says her name
Be good be good
Be good is her name
I trim my lion's claws and I...
And I cut my mane
And I would if I could
But that woman treats me the same
She said lions are made for cages
Just to look at in delight
You dare not let 'em walk around
'cause they might just bite
Does she know what she does
When she dances round my cage
Be good is her name
I sing my lion's song
Brush my mane
And she would
If she could
So she pulled my lion's tail
And cause me pain
She said lions are made for cages
Just to look at delight
You dare not let 'em walk around
'cause they might just bite
Does she know what she does
When she dances around my cage?
Be good
Is her name
I trim my lion's claw and I...
And I cut my mane
And I would if I could
But beee good
Treats me the same
She said lions are made for cages
Just to look at delight
You dare not let 'em walk around

Does she know what she does
When she dances around my cage?
She dances around my cage
Does she knoooow?
Does she knooooooow?
Be good
Be good
Be good
Be good
Songwriter: Gregory F. Porter
In "Be Good (Lion’s Song)," Gregory Porter captures the struggle and emotional turmoil of a man or a woman trapped in a relationship where they feel confined and limited. The song raises questions about the power dynamics involved and the significance of understanding and accepting one another's true selves. It is a poignant exploration of the complexities and challenges of finding freedom within the confines of societal expectations and personal relationships.

Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered
After one whole quart of brandy
Like a daisy I awake
With no Bromo Seltzer handy
I don't even shake
Men are not a new sensation
I've done pretty well, I think
But this half-pint imitation
Put me on the blink
I'm wild again
Beguiled again
A simpering, whimpering child again
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I
Couldn't sleep
And wouldn't sleep
Until I could sleep where I shouldn't sleep
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I
Lost my heart but what of it?
My mistake I agree
he's a laugh, but I like it
because the laugh's on me
A pill he is
But still he is
All mine and I'll keep him until he is
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered
Like me
Seen a lot
I mean I lot
But now I'm like sweet seventeen a lot
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I
I'll sing to him
Each spring to him
And worship the trousers that cling to him
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I
When he talks he is seeking
Words to get off his chest
Horizontally speaking
He's at his very best
Vexed again
Perplexed again
Thank God I can't be over-sexed again
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I
(Reprise at the end of the show)
Wise at last
My eyes at last
Are cutting you down to your size at last
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered no more
Burned a lot
But learned a lot
And now you are broke, though you earned a lot
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered no more
Couldn't eat
Was dyspeptic
Life was so hard to bear
Now my heart's antiseptic
Since you moved out of there
Romance-Finis
Your chance-finis
Those ants that invaded my pants-finis
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered no more

But now I'm like sweet seventeen a lot
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I
I'll sing to him
Each spring to him
And worship the trousers that cling to him
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I
When he talks he is seeking
Words to get off his chest
Horizontally speaking
He's at his very best
Vexed again
Perplexed again
Thank God I can't be over-sexed again
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I
(Reprise at the end of the show)
Wise at last
My eyes at last
Are cutting you down to your size at last
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered no more
Burned a lot
But learned a lot
And now you are broke, though you earned a lot
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered no more
Couldn't eat
Was dyspeptic
Life was so hard to bear
Now my heart's antiseptic
Since you moved out of there
Romance-Finis
Your chance-finis
Those ants that invaded my pants-finis
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered no more
Songwriters: Richard Rodgers, Lorenz Hart
Blame it On My Youth
If I expected love when first we kissed
Blame it on my youth
If only just for you I did exist
Blame it on my youth
I believed in everything
Like a child at three
You meant more than everything
All the world to me
If you were on my mind all night and day
Blame it on my youth
If I forgot to eat and sleep and pray
Blame it on my youth
If I cried a little bit
When first I learned the truth
Don't blame it on my heart
Blame it on my-why youth
If you were on my mind all night and day
Blame it on my youth
If I forgot to eat and sleep and pray
Blame it on my youth
If I cried a little bit
When first I learned the truth
Don't blame it on my heart
Blame it on my youth
Chet Baker on vocal and trumpet

Blues In My Heart
What can I do
Now that you say we're through?
I'm left with the blues in my heart
How can I smile
When life don't seem worthwhile?
I'm left with the blues in my heart
How can I live?
What is there life can give?
As long as we're apart
How can I go on
Knowing that you are gone?
I'm left with the blues in my heart
Songwriters: Irving Mills, Benny Carter

Canadian Sunset
Once, I was alone
So lonely and then
You came out of nowhere
Like the sun up from the hills
Cold, cold as the wind
Warm, warm were your lips
Out there, on the ski trail
Where your kiss filled me with thrills
A weekend in Canada a change of scene
Was the most I bargained for
And then I discovered you and in your eyes
I found a love that I couldn't ignore
Down, down came the sun
Fast, fast beat my heart
I knew, as the sun set, from that day
We'd never part
Down, down, down, down came the sun
Fast, fast, fast, fast beat my heart
I knew as the sun set from that day
We'd never part
Down, down, down, down came the sun
Fast, fast, fast, fast, beat my heart
I knew as the sun set from that day
We'd never part, we'd never part, we'd never part

Caroline, No
Where did your long hair go
Where is the girl I used to know
How could you lose that happy glow
Oh, Caroline no
Who took that look away
I remember how you used to say
You'd never change, but that's not true
Oh, Caroline you
Break my heart
I want to go and cry
It's so sad to watch a sweet thing die
Oh, Caroline why
Could I ever find in you again
The things that made me love you so much then
Could we ever bring 'em back once they have gone
Oh, Caroline no
Songwriters: Brian Wilson, Brian Douglas and Tony Asher

Canto de Orfeo
Quero viver, quero sambar
Até sentir a essência da vida me faltar
Quero sambar, quero viver
Depois do samba tá bom, meu amor, posso morrer
Quero viver, quero sambar
Até sentir a essência da vida me faltar
Quero sambar, quero viver
Depois do samba tá bom, meu amor, posso morrer
Quem quiser gostar de mim
Se quiser vai ser assim
Vamos viver, vamos sambar
Se a fantasia rasgar, meu amor, eu compro outra
Vamos sambar, vamos viver
O samba é livre, eu sou livre também até morrer
[Solo]
Quem quiser gostar de mim
Se quiser vai ser assim
Vamos viver, vamos sambar
Se a fantasia rasgar, meu amor, eu compro outra
Vamos sambar, vamos viver
O samba é livre, eu sou livre também até morrer
O samba é livre, eu sou livre também até morrer
O samba é livre, eu sou livre também até morrer

Come Rain Or Come Shine
I'm gonna love you
Like nobody's loved you
Come rain or come shine
High as a mountain
And deep as a river
Come rain or come shine
I guess when you met me
It was just one of those things
But don' t ever bet me
Cause I'm gonna be true
If you let me
You're gonna love me
Like nobody's loved me
Come rain or come shine
Happy together, unhappy together
And won't it be fine
Days may be cloudy or sunny
We're in, or we're out of the money
But I'm with you always
I'm with you rain or shine
I'm gonna love you
Like nobody's loved you
Come rain or come shine

Comment Te dire Adieu
Sous aucun prétexte
Je ne veux
Avoir de réflexes
Malheureux
Il faut que tu m'expliques
Un peu mieux
Comment te dire adieu
Mon cœur de silex
Vite prend feu
Ton cœur de pyrex
Résiste au feu
Je suis bien perplexe
Je ne veux
Me résoudre aux adieux
Je sais bien qu'un ex amour n'a pas de chance, ou si peu
Mais pour moi un explication voudrait mieux
Sous aucun prétexte
Je ne veux
Devant toi surexposer mes yeux
Derrière un kleenex
Je saurais mieux
Comment te dire adieu
Comment te dire adieu
Tu as mis a l'index nos nuits blanches, nos matins gris-bleu
Mais pour moi une explication voudrait mieux
Sous aucun prétexte
Je ne veux
Devant toi surexposer mes yeux
Derrière un kleenex
Je saurais mieux
Comment te dire adieu

Contigo En La Distancia
"Contigo En La Distancia"
No existe un momento del dia
En que pueda apartarte de mi
El mundo parece distinto
Cuando no estas junto a mi
No hay bella melodia
En que no surjas tu
Ni yo quiero escucharla
Si no la escuchas tu
[1] - Es que te has convertido
En parte de mi alma
Ya nada me consuela
Si no estas tu tambien
Mas alla de tus labios
Del sol y las estrellas
Contigo en la distancia
Amado mio estoy
[Repeat 1]
Contigo en la distancia
Amado mio estoy, oh
Contigo

Crazy
Crazy
I'm crazy for feeling so lonely
I'm crazy
Crazy for feeling so blue
I knew you'd love me as long as you wanted
And then some day
You'd leave me for somebody new
Worry
Why do I let myself worry?
Wondering
What in the world did I do?
Oh, crazy
For thinking that my love could hold you
I'm crazy for trying
And crazy for crying
And I'm crazy for loving you
Crazy for thinking that my love could hold you
I'm crazy for trying
And crazy for crying
And I'm crazy for loving you
Songwriter: Willie Nelson
Cry me A River
Now you say you're lonely
You cried the long night through
Well, you can cry me a river, cry me a river
I cried a river over you
Now you say you're sorry
For being so untrue
Well you can cry me a river, cry me a river
I cried a river over you
You drove me, nearly drove me out of my head
While you never shed a tear
Remember, I remember all that you said
You told me love was too plebeian
Told me you were through with me and
Now you say, you say you love me
Well just to prove that you do
Come on and cry me a river, cry me a river
'Cause I cried a river over you
You drove me nearly out of my head
While you never shed a tear
Remember, I remember all that you said
Told me love was too plebeian
Told me you were through with me and
Now, now you say you love me
Well just to prove you do
Come on and cry, cry, cry me a river, cry me a river
'Cause I cried a river over you
If my pillow could talk, imagine what it would have said
Could it be a river of tears I cried in bed
So you can cry me a river
Daddy, go ahead and cry that river
'Cause I cried, how I cried a river over you
I cried a river over you
