Dance Me To The End of Love
Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic 'til I'm gathered safely in
Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Oh let me see your beauty when the witnesses are gone
Let me feel you moving like they do in Babylon
Show me slowly what I only know the limits of
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to the wedding now, dance me on and on
Dance me very tenderly and dance me very long
We're both of us beneath our love, we're both of us above
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to the children who are asking to be born
Dance me through the curtains that our kisses have outworn
Raise a tent of shelter now, though every thread is torn
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic till I'm gathered safely in
Touch me with your naked hand or touch me with your glove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Devil May Care

No cares for me I'm happy as I can be
I learned to love and to live
Devil may care
No cares or woes whatever comes later goes
That's how I'll take and I'll give
Devil may care

When the day is through I suffer no regrets
I know that he who frets loses the night
For only a fool thinks he can hold back the dawn
He who is wise never tries to revise what's past and gone

Live, love today and come tomorrow what may
Don't even stop for a sigh it doesn't help if you cry
Thats how I'll live and I'll die
Devil may care

When the day is through I suffer no regrets
I know that he who frets, loses the night
For only a fool thinks he can hold back the dawn
He who is wise never tries to revise what's past and gone

Live, love today and come tomorrow what may
Don't even stop for a sigh it doesn't help if you cry
Thats how I'll live and I'll die
Devil may care
Devil may care
Devil may care

East Of The Sun
East of the sun and west of the moon
We'll build a dream house of love dear
Near to the sun in the day
Near to the moon at night
We'll live in a lovely way dear
Living our love and pale moonlight
Just you and I, forever and a day
Love will not die, we'll keep it that way
Up among the stars we'll find
A harmony of life to a lovely tune
East of the sun and west of the moon, dear
East of the sun and west of the moon

Embraceable You
Nat King Cole - piano and vocals
Oscar Moore  - guitar
Anonymous - Bass

Judy Garland performing the George/Ira Gershwin standard “Embraceable You”, from the 1943 film ‘Girl Crazy’. Played in the key of  D flat. Judy performs the seldom heard introductory verse. Care to dance?
Dozens of girls would storm up.
I had to lock my door
Somehow I couldn't warm up to one before
What was it that controlled me?
What kept my love life lean?
My intuition told me you'd come on the scene
Lady listen to the rhythm of my heartbeat
And you'll get just what I mean

Embrace me
My sweet embraceable you
Embrace me
You irreplaceable you

Just one look at you
My heart grows tipsy in me
You and you alone
Bring out the gypsy in me

I love all the many charms about you
Above all, I want my arms about you

Don't be a naughty baby
Come to papa come to papa do
My sweet embraceable you

Angie
Embrace me embrace me my sweet embraceable you
Embrace me you irreplaceable you
In your arms I find love so delectable dear
I'm afraid it's not quite respectable dear

But hang it c'mon let's glorify love
Ding dang it you shout of course if I love
Don't be a naughty papa
Come to baby do come to baby do
My sweet embraceable you

orchestra interlude 32 bars

George
Dear lady my silk and laceble you
Dear lady be my embraceable you
Your the only one I love yes heavenly so
But you're much too shy so verily so
Angie
And why not to be so bold my dear
And why not but me not my dear
There's just one way to cheer me
Come to daddy come to daddy do
My sweet embraceable you

Composed for the 1928 operetta East Is West which which was never published
Premiered in the 1930 musical Girl Crazy

Sung by Angie Smith and George Gershwin

Everybody Needs A Best Friend
Yvonne Siefer bei der Night of Stars 2014 in der Haslacher Stadthalle mit der Big Band Surprise unter der Leitung von Peter Stöhr
My words are lazy
My thoughts are hazy
But this is one thing I'm sure of
Everybody needs a best friend
I'm happy I'm yours
You got a double
Who brings you trouble
And though you're better without me
Everybody needs a best friend
I'm happy I'm yours
A fool could see decidedly
That you're a ten and I'm a three
A royal breed is what you need
So how did you come to be stuck with a bummer like me
Oh you got a head full of someone dreadful
But how that someone adores you
Everybody needs a best friend
I'm happy I'm yours
A fool could see decidedly
That you're a ten and I'm a three
A royal breed is what you need
So how did you come to be stuck with a bummer like me
Oh you got a head full of someone dreadful
And yet at last that someone adores you
Everybody needs a best friend I'm happy I'm yours
I'm just a clown
And I'll bring you down
But you just don't care
'Cause your best friend is me

Eyes Without A Face
I'm all out of hope
One more bad dream could bring a fall
When I'm far from home
Don't call me on the phone
To tell me you're alone
It's easy to deceive
It's easy to tease
But hard to get release

Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Got no human grace your eyes without a face.

I spend so much time
Believing all the lies
To keep the dream alive
Now it makes me sad
It makes me mad at truth
For loving what was you

Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Got no human grace your eyes without a face

When you hear the music you make a dip
Into someone else's pocket then make a slip
Steal a car and go to Las Vegas oh, the gigolo pool

Hanging out by the state line,
Turning holy water into wine
Drinkin' it down, oh
I'm on a bus on a psychedelic trip
Reading murder books tryin' to stay hip
I'm thinkin' of you you're out there so
Say your prayers
Say your prayers
Say your prayers.

Now I close my eyes
And  wonder wonder why
Why I don't despise
Now all I can do
Is love what was once
So alive and so new
But it's gone from your eyes
I'd better realise

Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Got no human grace your eyes without a face
Such a human waste your eyes without a face
And now it's getting worse.

Songwriter: Billy Idol

Fly Me To The Moon
Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars

In other words, hold my hand
In other words, baby kiss me

Fill my heart with song
And let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore

In other words: please, be true
In other words, I love you

Fill my heart with song
Let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore

In other words, please be true
In other words, in other words, I love you

Writer:  Bart Howard

Then this song was written by Bart Howard in 1954, it had a title "In Other Words". Frank Sinatra's 1964 version was associated with the Apollo missions to the moon. This song became the first music heard on the moon when Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin played it on a portable cassette player after he allegedly stepped onto the moon's  surface.
Quincy Jones arranged the music for Frank Sinatra's album. Quincy Jones had worked with Count Basie a year earlier on the album "This Time by Basie" (1963), which also included a version of "Fly Me To The Moon".
